OR

Project Manager – Operations (part-time, 24 hours per week) / Project Manager – Community, Arts & Events

 (part-time, 24 hours per week)

GBP27,559 full-time (or pro rata)

Discover DeCrypt will be 2019’s most exciting new addition to city centre Gloucester. The site, comprising an extraordinary Grade I-listed mediaeval consecrated church, and Grade II* listed Tudor schoolroom, will re-open in March 2019 after a 1.5million Heritage Lottery funded programme of repairs and regeneration ready for its new role as a city centre flagship for heritage, performance, creativity and worship. The Trustees of the Discover DeCrypt Charitable Incorporated Organisation are looking for an exceptional person to take on the role full-time, or two exceptional people to take on part-time roles focusing on Operations and Community aspects of the role respectively.

The successful candidate/s will be energetic, passionate, flexible and committed – and relish the opportunity to take on a new challenge with huge potential to become a landmark in the City of Gloucester and fully contribute to the city’s emerging role as a major heritage destination. With experience in operating a heritage site, an entrepreneurial and ‘can-do’ attitude, confidence in leading teams (including volunteers) and working with a board of trustees, the ideal candidate/s must have sympathy with the Christian faith and the work of the Church of England. Flexibility is required, with regular weekend and evening working necessary to support the developing programme. To this end, the successful candidate/s will work core hours plus a ‘float’ of hours to support out-of-hours opening and events.

The role/s cover the safe opening of the site on a day to day basis for general visitors, tours and school groups, as well as out-of-hours lettings and functions. It also includes overseeing the provision of a high-quality visitor and user experience for everyone who visits Discover DeCrypt, whether they are driven their by faith, a desire to learn more of the stories behind the buildings, or as part of their life’s business and celebrations.

The full-time post working days and hours are Wednesday – Sunday, 10-5pm. The part-time posts’ working days and hours are Wednesday-Friday 10-5pm OR Friday-Sunday 10-5pm on a two-week rota.

Applications are invited for EITHER the full-time post OR one of the part-time roles. Prospective candidates who are interested in the possibility of applying for more than one role are encouraged to do so and make this clear in their application. The full-time role embraces both operations and community, arts and events, whilst the two part-time roles are divided into Project Manager – Operations and Project Manager – Community, Arts & Events.

This post is subject to an enhanced disclosure from the DBS.

Applications are invited in the form of a covering letter and CV. Please submit your application no later than 11pm on Monday 3 December to jenine.devries@discoverdecrypt.org.uk. If you have any enquiries at all, please email this address or call the office on 01452 385 070.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 12th and Friday 14th December 2018 in Gloucester.
