The role of art-making in wellbeing – and particularly mental wellbeing – is now widely recognised. Creativity is powerfully associated with positive energy and increased self-esteem. Put simply, art is good for you!
This 8 week course focuses on learning how to use art-making to increase self-awareness, boost self-esteem and take a greater enjoyment in life.
You DO NOT need to be ‘good’ at art. These will not be art lessons, though support with materials will be available. This course is about the process of making art and what it can tell you about yourself, not about the end result. There will be no judgement of your finished artwork. All you need is a willingness to have a go and have fun.
There is no fee for the course, but a contribution of £15 to cover the cost of materials is requested. However, we do not want cost to prevent you from participating, so if this is a barrier, please contact Jess at [email protected]
Please be sure that you are able to attend all 8 sessions. Commitment to the group is an important part of the process.
