Exhibition: It Takes One Woman
September 4 - September 19
Florence Li Tim-Oi was a pioneer of women’s ministry. The first woman to be ordained priest in the Anglican Communion, while the question of women’s ordination was still hotly debated, her story has inspired generations. This exhibition covers her life in brief, from working with refugees in Macau to surviving China’s Cultural Revolution, a journey both extraordinary and inspiring. While visiting England she preached and presided at the Eucharist at St Mary de Crypt. Her legacy lives on today in the Florence Li Tim-Oi Foundation, supporting women around the world to become leaders in their communities.
There will be a parallel exhibition of original works by Eloise of Elluminations from her book The God Who Gave You Birth.
The exhibition will run throughout Gloucester History Festival. Entrance is free but please donate if you can.
