Wet Felting Workshop
February 13 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm£25
Please note: this activity is suspended while Gloucester remains in tier 4. Please contact us to register your interest and we will let you know as soon as a new date is fixed.
An introduction to the creative craft of wet felt making suitable for complete beginners or those with a little experience.
In this workshop you will learn how to create a piece of felt from merino wool tops using the wet felting technique. There will be a selection of coloured wools to choose from and the chance to experiment with a number of small projects. In the afternoon we will be making felted soap. Wool is naturally anti-bacterial and is an ideal covering for soap, which lathers well and shrinks with the soap as it is used.
Materials will be provided at an additional cost of £5 per person, but if you would like to bring your own wool or have any bars of soap you would particularly like to felt, then please feel free to bring them.
Tea/coffee and pre-packed biscuits will be provided, but please make your own arrangements for lunch.
Children are welcome but under 12s must be accompanied by an adult.
While Coronavirus restrictions are in place face coverings must be worn throughout and participants will be asked to maintain a distance of 2m from each other and use hand sanitiser regularly. Places will be restricted to 6 people in order to ensure adequate space for each participant. Discover DeCrypt is a Covid-secure space.
